Currently, I'm trying to get my very reluctant son to get onto social welfare system such as general relief and SSI rather than come to live with his parents for the rest of our lives. He is very moody. I was glad when he said he had to go back to another place he was able to stay for a month after a month with us. He is destitute again now after I've quit supporting him. He told me when he left that he would do nothing I said, that he can't work. and that he will not try to apply for social welfare. I said his shame is so great that he can't tolerate any more shame that applying would cause him, but that I could apply for him. I hesitate because I am afraid he will later come back at me stating if only I hadn't initiated the social welfare status, blah, blah blah. Do you know of any TBI public case manager that will take the individual and the family of someone who has refused his rightful disability label; but, that is most certainly disabled because he cannot go into offices to apply with people either for work or for disability benefits.

My adult son has learning disbilities from TBI. He has also suffered from depression that I now think is a result of sports' concussions. These incidents happened more than one year ago.
